John Nypaver

John Robert Andrew “Pap” Nypaver. of Uniontown, PA., passed away peacefully on Sunday June 2, 2019.

He was born on Friday January 22, 1926, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Stephen and Mary (Jazsmik) Nypaver.

John was employed with the IRS as an Audit Agent and also an Enrolled Agent as a public accountant. He later formed Horne & Nypaver tax preparation and was the owner of Nypaver tax preparation and accounting for 35 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1275 and was also a 4th degree Knight where he served as financial secretary for 25 years.

John was a former usher for St. John’s Parish and St. Mary’s Parish and also a lector at St. Mary’s Parish.

He was predeceased by both of his parents and brothers; Stephen Nypaver, Thomas Nypaver, Francis Nypaver, sisters; Bertha Nypaver, Martha Nypaver, Sister Lawrence Nypaver and Elizabeth McBride, Mary Jane Murphy and nephew Thomas Nypaver Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and  devoted wife of 64 years Eleanor Marie (Sofranko) Nypaver, his children Jerry Nypaver and his wife Rose, Stephanie Marie Nypaver; grandchildren; Jerome Stephen Nypaver and his wife Caitlyn, Nicholas John Nypaver, Marques John Nypaver whom resided with his “Pap-Pap”, sisters; Josephine Ferry, Mildred Goberni and her husband Paul, Eleanor Ungashick and her husband William, cousin Madelyn Mulchaey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Baker-Terravecchia Funeral Home, Inc., 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa 15401 on Thursday June 6, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Friday June 7, 2019 until 9:30 AM when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, Uniontown, Pa. 15401 at 10 AM.

Interment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.  where military honors will be accorded by the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.
