Frances Fritz

Frances Jane Fritz, age 65, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 peacefully in her home surrounded by family.

She was born on August 20, 1957 in Oceanside, Ny., a daughter of Jacob Erjavec and Mary Erjavec (Mandinec.)

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth C. Fritz; brothers Jack and Richie; and her little sister Susan.

She spent the last 20 years of her life selflessly caring for her adored grandchildren and family. She was an avid reader and loved Scrabble & crossword puzzles. She faced life’s challenges with strength and perseverance, teaching her family to “always look on the bright side” and to jump in rain puddles. She was her daughters’ best friend.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lori Byrd (Darrious) of Uniontown and Carol Dillow (KJ) of South Park; grandchildren: Ava, Lily, Darrious Jr. (Mannie), Devin, Greta, and baby boy due in April; sister Marianne & brother-in-law Fred Nehls; brother Tom E.; aunt Frances Bozak; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family also wishes to thank Amedysis Hospice for the loving care they provided.

Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 6-8 p.m., and on Saturday, February 25, 2023 until 10 a.m., the hour of service.
