Viola Vi “Gram” Martinko

Viola Vi “Gram” Martinko, age 83, entered Heaven on Thursday, August 7, 2025, peacefully, with her family by her side.

She was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1941, a beloved daughter of Edward and Mildred (Guy) King.

Vi was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Masontown. She was also an employee of the Albert Gallatin School District for 34 years. An avid Wheel of Fortune Watcher, being a passenger in the front seat of anyone’s car and eating out always made her happy but her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Steven R. 'Pap' Martinko Sr., son Steven R. Martinko Jr., and grandson Gregory Martinko.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Julie Ann Cappellini (Alan), Cynthia Martinko-Kachiano (Art), and Monica Martinko-Volpe, and Daughter-in-Law Bekki Martinko; grandchildren: Jarred Cappellini (Morgan), Jaid Cappellini, and Jace Cappellini (Grace), Steven Martinko (Tiffany); great grandchildren: Lexi Martinko,

Lorenzo Cappellini, Santino Cappellini; siblings: Helen Bowser and Walter King (both of Ohio), Brother-in-Law Ed Martinko (Bonnie), Sister-in -Law, Dot Martinko; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the TERRAVECCHIA-HAKY HOME FOR FUNERALS, INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 3 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be private.
