Robert Leslie (Bobby) Balas

Robert Leslie (Bobby) Balas, age 61, of Collier, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6th in Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his beloved family.

Bobby was born March 10, 1964, in Uniontown, PA to the late Robert Balas and his surviving mother Donna M. (Wilson) Balas. He was preceded in death by his father Robert (Bob) Balas on January 17, 2025. Left to cherish his memories are his loving mother Donna M. Balas, his brother Chris Balas (Michael Onesko) of Penncraft, PA, aunts; Jo Ann Dorgan of Long Branch, NJ and Sharon Smith (Nelson) of Greensboro, PA, and several cousins.

Bobby was a graduate of Fairchance-Georges High School and was a lifelong member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Fairchance, PA. He worked as the receptionist for his father’s appliance repair business for four decades. In addition, he was proud of the volunteer work he performed for a time at Fayette County Community Action Agency. Bobby enjoyed watching all the Pittsburgh sports teams, playing casino slots, visiting Lancaster, PA and attending family gatherings. Bobby had an immense love for his rescued family of 5 dogs and 3 cats. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Renee & Mike Alexander of They Deserve Better Dog Rescue for bringing the joy of rescued animals into Bobby’s life.

Family and friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, 515 N. Main Street Masontown, PA on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 2 until 8 PM; a blessing service will take place at 8:00 PM on Tuesday in the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort, PA. Family requests attendees meet at the cemetery.
