Mary Catherine Fotta

Mary Catherine Fotta, 98, of Masontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born August 11, 1925, in Masontown, Pa., the daughter of Peter and Mary (Walczy) Ketchel.

Mary was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, Pa.,

She was employed for many years as a waitress at Dolfi’s restaurant and also worked at DJ's Fiesta in Masontown. Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband William “Bill” Fotta, son-in-law Garry Petrucci, siblings; P.J. Ketchel, Stevie Ketchel and Ruth Valencik.

She is survived by her four children: Stephanie and husband Mark Adorno of Parkland, Florida, Janet Fotta of Masontown, Pa., William Fotta and wife, Jennifer, of Masontown, and Steven Fotta and wife, Paula, of Masontown; four grandchildren: Rachel DeEugenio and husband Lew, William J. Fotta, Elizabeth Fotta, and Rebekah Fotta, great grandchildren; Lewis, Reid, Keaton, Rose; a sister Dolores Novak and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., Wednesday October 25, 2023  from 4-8 p.m., and on Thursday October 26, 2023 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Dick Anthony Cortado as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary's Cemetery Leckrone, PA.

The family expresses their thanks and gratitude for the compassionate care provided to their mom by the nursing staff and P.T., of Amedisys Home Health Care and Hospice.
