John Trivonovich

November 4, 1932 — July 28, 2024

Masontown

Some people called him “Big John”, Others called him “Mr. T” or “Coach T”.

John Trivonovich passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024. He was married to his true love Barbara (Wallace) Trivonovich, who passed away in 2016. It is our hope that they are back together again.

He was the eldest son of Mildred (Kattaron) Gotch and Eli Trivonovich. He had one brother; Theodore, who is deceased.

He is survived by his eldest daughter Tamara Ann (Trivonovich)Jones and her husband, Thomas Jones that reside in Vermont; as well as, his youngest daughter, Tania Trivonovich of Uniontown, Pa.

For those that knew him; football was his passion. He enjoyed playing as well as coaching this sport.

He began playing football for the Masontown School District; then moved on to play college ball at San Bernadino College and eventually California University of Pennsylvania.

After College he became a football coach at Bellmar; followed by his coaching at Laurel Highlands Senior High, Albert Gallatin Senior High and University High in Morgantown, West Virginia.

He was one of the few select individuals to wear the number “100” on his football jersey while at San Bernadino. He was very proud of this.

While at San Bernadino my Father was drafted into the Service of the United States Army. He was proud to serve his country.

Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc.,  515 North Main St. in Masontown, Pa. On Friday, August 2nd, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. and Saturday, from 10:00-11:00 A.M.

Refreshments will be served at the American Legion at 1977 McClellentown Road; Masontown, Pa. Directly after the burial.

Today we indeed lost a great man who touched many peoples lives in a very positive way, He was a Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Coach and more importantly, Father and Family Man. He loved life and all of the people that he met along the way. He will be dearly missed by so many.
