Janet Louise (Hart) McKittrick, 83, of Lower Heidelberg Township, died November 30 2025 at Phoebe Berks Village, Wernsersville.
She was the widow of Lawrence P. McKittrick who died in 2006.
Born July 28, 1942, in Ronco, PA, she was a daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Pavlovich) Hart.
Janet was a 1960 graduate of German Township High School, McClellandtown, PA.
After graduating, she moved to Virginia. She was employed with the Department of State in Washington, DC, in the Executive Director’s Office of Inter-American Affairs for 36 years, retiring in 1997.
She loved bowling, gardening and traveling during her spare time and was the past treasurer of Beverly Forest HomeOwners Association, Springfield, Virginia.
Janet was a past member of St. Bernadette R.C. Church, Springfield, VA, where she was also a member of their Ladies Senior Group. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield, PA.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassandre Mary McKittrick (John Haines) of Des Moines, Iowa, also surviving is her sister, Susan M. (Hart), widow of Richard A. Nye of Lower Heidelberg Township; her niece, Sandra Nye, and her seven nephews, Richard, Michael, Robert, and Ronald Nye, and Thomas, Steve, and Mark Gansor, and their families.
Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Kay (Hart) Gansor.
A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA. A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m.
Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc. 515 North Main Street Masontown, PA., on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., when prayers of transfer will be said, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 W. Church Ave., Masontown, PA 15461.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Leckrone, PA.,
