Albert D. Yash, 96, of McClellandtown, PA passed away Thursday August 14, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Edenborn, PA on Monday April 8, 1929, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Savochka) Yash.
A veteran, he served his Country with the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, he was a life member of the Masontown VFW Post 4584, the American Legion Post 423, the Amend Gun Club and was a Brother Fire Fighter of the Edenborn Volunteer Fire Department.
He retired from US Steel Homestead Works with 36 years of service and also retired from ARC of Fayette County with 24 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Josephine (Maust) Yash, as well as, 3 Older Sisters and 3 Older Brothers.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cindy Demniak and husband Mark, and Sharon Simon, grandchildren, Marquis Demniak (John Marsh), Jordyn Muma (Cameron) and Kyle Simon; great grandchildren; Soren Muma, Romy Muma, and many nieces and nephews.
Albert will be remembered for his love of his beagles and grand puppies over the years, gardening and listening to polka music
Friends will be received in the Terravecchia-Haky Home for Funerals, Inc. 515 North Main Street Masontown, Pa., on Sunday August 17, 2025 from 4-7 PM with a Service at 6:00 PM by the Edenborn Volunteer Fire Fighters and Monday August 18, 2025 until 9:30 AM when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, Pa.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Leckrone, PA., where military honors will be accorded by the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 and the Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Albert Yash can be made to Fayette Friends of Animals, PO Box 1282, Uniontown, PA 15401.
